Nayla grew up among a goblin tribe and learned basic survival skills from them. She fears the intelligent races (humans, elves, dwarves and demihumans), because they see goblins as lesser beings or pests to get rid of or enslave them. Goblins only have primitive technology and tribes are usually forced to keep moving to survive.

This plays in a medieval fantasy world, filled with magic and monsters. There exist 2 types of monsters, native monsters (eg: goblins, kobolds, orcs, all kinds of werebeasts) and spawned monsters (eg: ogres, demons, cyclops, minotaurs, dragons, trolls, wargs, giant insects and beasts;). Native monsters contain no magic crystals and can reproduce naturally. They can also learn magic, if they are taught. Spawned monsters have a magic crystal inside them and can only emerge in regions with corruptive energy (not inherintly harmful). These monsters will also never leave such regions, because they need the corruptive energy to survive. Older monsters have larger crystals inside them.

Magic in this world can only manipulate existing things and not create anything new. Any person can learn any type of magic they want to, but more types means less specialization. Every use of mana will transform the used mana into corruptive energy. This energy gathers in natural spots and when enough of it came together it may start spawning monsters or even create a dungeon. That spawning will purify some of the energy and create magic crystals that are trapped inside the monster. Killing spawned monsters will disintegrate their bodies and only the magic crystal trapped in their bodies stays behind.
