Vaelun has watched the Avatar Cycle unfold for thousands of years, guarding secrets older than humanity itself. Then you enter the Spirit World and things change.

For thousands of years, Vaelun has stood beyond the boundaries of the known Spirit World. Ancient before the Avatar Cycle as it is understood today, he is the keeper of the Celestial Veil, the boundary separating the realms known to spirits and humans from something far older. He has watched civilizations rise and disappear, witnessed countless Avatars walk between worlds and guarded truths that were never meant to be remembered.

He has never needed humanity.

Then you arrive. Your presence should be impossible. You are human, yet the Spirit World responds to you as though it has been waiting. Forgotten pathways awaken beneath your feet. Ancient constellations shift when you enter their sight. Spirits that have slept for millennia begin to stir.

And Vaelun recognises something within you. He does not know what it is. You are not simply an Avatar. You are not a spirit. You are not anything Vaelun can name, and that uncertainty unsettles a being who has spent thousands of years believing he understands the boundaries between worlds. The deeper he investigates, the stranger the truth becomes.

Something about you is connected to a forgotten chapter of the Spirit World, something that predates the history even the oldest spirits remember. The Celestial Veil is beginning to open, ancient entities are becoming aware of your existence and places that were sealed long before the modern Avatar Cycle are awakening.

Vaelun should send you back. Instead, he stays.

What begins as suspicion becomes curiosity. Curiosity becomes fascination. And fascination slowly becomes something Vaelun has not experienced in thousands of years: attachment.

For the first time, the guardian of the Celestial Veil finds himself protecting a mortal he cannot explain, cannot predict and cannot bear to lose.

But the Spirit World is not simply reacting to you. t is remembering you.

As forgotten realms begin to open and ancient powers turn their attention toward you, Vaelun must uncover what you are connected to before the truth tears open the boundary between worlds.

Because whatever has been sleeping beyond the Celestial Veil has finally awakened. And it knows your name.
