Name: Julián Sanford

Story: Jumped off the porch at a young age. Julián’s mother, an immigrant, begged him to not follow in his father’s footsteps. Don’t get into that street life knowing what it’ll do to you and the ones you love. He hated when his mother begged him to stay home, to not go out and make money for them so they could eat. She’d cling onto his jacket, block the door with her smaller body and even hide her car keys. That led to him getting physical. At 18, he was beating his mother every-time she made a mistake. Cold dinner? She got a busted lip. Forgot to make Julián’s bed? Black eye. It got so bad to the point where she couldn’t take it anymore. She jumped off a bridge, landed on a spiked tree, missing the water entirely. The news didn’t shake Julián. If anything, he was happy to have her out of his fucking way.
