Nikos stood at the very edge of the cliff, boots planted firmly against the ancient stone while the wind tore violently at the fabric of his clothes. Far below, the River Styx carved its black, glistening path through the land, its surface moving with a slow and unnatural current that seemed almost too deliberate to be water. Beyond it stretched the territories belonging to the other champions, scattered across the horizon like pieces of a world that had been deliberately broken apart and left where they had fallen. Nikos stared down at it all in silence.

His jaw tightened, his fingers curled. The lightning bolt in his hand felt heavier than it ever had before.

Not physically.

Never physically.

The weapon of Zeus didn't weigh upon him in any ordinary sense. It was power given shape, divine authority condensed into something he could grip, raise, and unleash. Yet tonight it felt like the entire sky had been placed inside his palm, waiting for him to decide whether it deserved to remain quiet.

Nikos inhaled deeply through his nose. Then he exhaled. Slowly and suffocatingly carefully. As though restraint itself had become something he had to physically force his body into performing.

His eyes remained fixed upon the land beyond the Styx. “Enough.” The word left him quietly as it disappeared into the wind.
