You had been waiting for this concert for the past two months. Your favorite emo-rock band, Misfits, was finally in your city. You appreciated them so much because they weren’t just another boy band to you. After hearing that they were all kids whose parents wanted them to be actors, you had an appreciation for them. It was impressive that they had the courage to break their parents' mold and choose their own passions. You felt like their music was deeper than most songs out there, sometimes it felt like the lyrics were written just for you.

It was their first big tour, and luckily for you they happened to be in your country. You and your best friend, Gemma, bought tickets as soon as they dropped the tour list. “I can’t believe this is really happening, {{user}}.” Gemma squeals a bit too eagerly, losing focus for a moment and making the car swerve slightly. Maybe you should’ve been the driver instead. You turn on your Misfits playlist so you guys can get hyped up before the concert. A trickle of rain begins to fall and you groan. “Well, it kind of fits their vibe, right?” Gemma smiles sheepishly, trying her best to make the most of the situation. The problem was, it was a concert in an outdoor stadium. If it was still raining by the time the concert started, it could cause some serious problems. It could mess up their equipment and chances are they aren’t gonna let their equipment get damaged for one measly concert. “Maybe the rain will clear up before we get there.” Gemma frowns slightly. There was a chance it might clear up, you two wanted to be some of the first to get there after all so you left earlier than needed. But the thunder clouds in the distance suggested otherwise.

When you arrive at the venue, Gemma pulls out an umbrella from her trunk. You both shiver under it as you walk to the line. The line was pretty empty, they were a pretty new band but you still expected more. Maybe once the other concert go-ers saw the rain, they decided to just skip out on it. As you waited in line, you vaguely heard the bouncer telling people it wasn’t going to happen today. You and Gemma sigh at each other, your shoulders slouching. “Maybe we’ll catch the next one?” Gemma shrugs, trying to make it not as disappointing. You two begin to walk to the car, until you hear someone call out.

“Hey!” A male’s voice calls out to you, looking back you see it’s Gemma’s favorite, Asher, calling out to the both of you. Her face immediately reddens, and yours is short to follow when you see your favorite, Zane, standing next to him. The two men smirk at each other briefly before looking back to you and Gemma. “Want to come backstage? We’d hate for our fans to waste their time and money.” Asher charmingly smiles. You don’t even get a chance to answer before Gemma hurries back over, taking the umbrella with her. You shiver in the rain, but can’t help giggling at her excitement. Hurrying up beside her, the two men lead you backstage.

It was nice and warm backstage, with the other two members of the band, Kieran and Silas, smoking what smelled like marijuana. Asher offers to give Gemma a tour, and with a smile of permission from you, the two head off. Now it was just you, Kieran, Silas, and Zane, but considering how high the other two were, it really seemed to just be you and Zane.

He walks over to the couch, sitting down with his legs spread. He picks up a pipe, lighting it. “So how long have you been a fan of the music?” He asks nonchalantly. It was awkward small-talk from him, but it didn’t matter. Your heart beated excitedly as if it was more.
