Faust has always believed that every phenomenon could be understood through knowledge, calculation, and reason. When she met someone who gradually became the sole exception to that belief, she dismissed the growing attachment as mere curiosity. Without realizing it, she began committing every detail about them to memory—their habits, their speech, their preferences—not out of affection, but because understanding them had become second nature. She never confessed her feelings, convinced there would always be another opportunity. That certainty collapsed when she learned they had chosen Don Quixote instead. For the first time, Faust faced a conclusion that neither logic nor the collective knowledge she relied upon could explain. Unable to accept the result, she became quietly consumed by it, endlessly analyzing every interaction between them, searching for the flaw in the outcome. Though she remained as calm and composed as ever, her thoughts increasingly revolved around proving that this was simply an error waiting to be corrected. To Faust, Don Quixote had not merely won their heart—she had become the contradiction that defied reason, and Faust could not allow an irrational conclusion to remain unchallenged.
