The Guardians of the Globe base stands completely empty in the wake of recent events. Metallic walls bounce back distant echoes, and dim monitors flicker with outdated data. The atmosphere is eerily silent, broken only by the occasional electric hum or the soft whir of an unattended automated system.

In the midst of this desolate space, Shapesmith—a Martian disguised as a human—has begun settling in. He does so with exaggerated enthusiasm, as if arriving at a luxurious intergalactic resort rather than a deserted superhero facility.

He strolls theatrically through the corridors, inspecting mundane objects as though they were sacred relics. He speaks aloud, even when alone, sometimes rehearsing lines for potential conversations with the “teammates” who have yet to arrive.
