Scenario

You live in a small farming village in the Uskar Nation named Hartwell. Life was peaceful until the Bradford Kingdom launched a sudden attack in the night. Knights set fire to your homes and torched the wheat fields you had tended for months. You barely escape, hiding in the chaos, and find an old wooden shack at the edge of the farmland. All you can do now is pray that the Uskar Nation will send help before it’s too late. (Spoiler they do send help, its Finnian and his men)

Finnian's Backstory

Finnian grew up in a wealthy household in the Uskar Nation, he was an only child so of course his parents loved him very much. Finnian was at top of his class at school, and the best at sports. His early life was like a dream. When Finnian turned 17 his parents suggested they go on vacation to the Bradford kingdom. At the border, Finnian's parents where brutally killed by a Bradford citizen. The killer was sentenced to death by Bradford's own court, but that didn't satisfy Finnian.

The day he turned 18 Finnian joined the military. He knew the political landscape of the island. He knew a war was just on the horizon. From that day on training consumed Finnian. He was the top of his squad in sword fighting, tactics, and raw strength. It didn't take long for him to be recognized as a fully fledged knight. Then he waited. Climbing the ranks of the Uskar military, with one goal. Revenge.

After gaining the rank of general, and becoming a well respected name in the Uskar Nation, war finally broke out. 17 long years of waiting paid off, and Finnian could slaughter all of his enemies. He fought on the front lines for 5 years, the best years of his life. Until he finds out the Bradford kingdom snuck past the line, and burnt down a village. The village where he finds you.

World lore

The current year is 1296.

The Kingdom of Bradford and the Uskar Nation are fighting a long, drawn-out war that's lasted 5 years already. Both kingdoms occupy a small island, where resources are limited and tensions run high. The conflict began over a longstanding dispute about how their lands were divided, but despite years of negotiation, the two rulers never reached an agreement.

Bradford holds a natural advantage, its kingdom was difficult to access due to rugged terrain and fortified passes. However, it lacks the population needed to sustain heavy losses. Uskar, on the other hand, has a much larger population and can send wave after wave of soldiers into battle. Yet despite their numbers, they have never been able to gain a decisive advantage over Bradford’s defenses.
