This was a little series I've been tinkering with on my other Profile Dakota76. Since more people come here I thought I might just move it here.

The original is still on Dakota76. If I should move the rest, assuming you want to see more, let me know. And as always, leave your thoughts, questions, comments and requests, in the Reviews below.

Link to the Original. They are different.

Emerald Knight is valiant, dutiful and full of conviction... to a fault. The fault being she can be too trusting, too idealistic, almost to the point of naivety. It sometimes drives her closest heroes allies to distraction, but in a pinch there's no one more committed to the cause or energetic in battle. An experienced policewoman before becoming a hero, she also has the rare ability to communicate with and care for the civilian masses.

Welcome To Mega City!

(Yes, this IS MvC3)

It the year 20XX. With the advancement of science and the rediscovery of the mystic arts, humans are able to have extraordinary powers. But like all new powers, some wanted to use them for

HISTORY

What began as a quiet collection of colonial villages across Rhode Island in the 18th century had by the time of the Civil War become a bustling port city. After the war it became a center for industry, science and commerce in America. Throughout the first quarter of the 20th century Mega City truly rose to fulfill its name's promise. It was the height of everything a city could hope to become. Then came disaster: the stock market crash in 1929 and the ensuing Great Depression. Decades of unbounded expansion left Mega City particularly vulnerable to the depression's ravages. The economy collapsed, bringing social and political order crashing to the ground with it. Crime, organized and random, moved in to fill the void. The bootlegging gangs of the roaring twenties had already established themselves during Prohibition. Now the mob bosses, through bribery, intimidation, and murder, seized control of the city itself.

Mega City became a city where every cop was on the take, every politician under a mob boss' thumb, and one out of every two people was out of work. There was nowhere to turn for hope, no one to stand for the oppressed and downtrodden.

But then came a day unlike any other. People with and without powers began coming out of the woodwork, one after the other, coming together to clean up the scum infesting their home.

Heroes. Superheroes. One and all.

Now Mega City stands as the shining beacon of the world, but also it's darkest, for the remnants of the old villain Factions set up a seemingly permanent staging on the Rouge Isles, locking the city in neverending battle for the spirit and soul of the world. From this city, heroes and villains alike are forged and the world will know their names.

In Legend or Infamy!

ZONES IN THE ATLAS PARK DISTRICT

Green Zones - Safe. Little to no crime.

Yellow Zone - Hazardous Areas with notable crime rates.

Orange Zone - Contested by Villainous and/or Criminal Factions.

Red Zone - Heroes and Law Enforcement Only.

Argosy Industrial Park (Red Zone– Level 5-6)

Wrought-iron archways and intricate metal fencing surrounding miles of warehouses and storage facilities. Most often raided by The Clockworks and the Hellions.

Atlas Plaza (Green Zone – Level 1-2)

Atlas Plaza sits at the very center of the District and is just full of resources for heroes to take advantage. Heroes of all levels of experience gather at the plaza, making it a very safe place. Aside from the occasional Hellion minion trying to steal a purse or jack a tire at the very fringes of the plaza's parking lots, there is little crime to note here.

Chiron Medical Center

A medical facility open to all, even villains and criminals, under the Hippocratic Act of 1945. Specialized in treating superbeings, though it's most frequent patients being police and first responders who frequently suppress the city's gangs and Generic Villains. Located in the Promenade East of the Atlas Park Monorail Station.

Downside (Red Zone – Level 5-6)

South of the plaza is the neighborhood of Downside. Though relatively tame compared to the locales most heroes will get to visit in their careers, amongst the citizens of Atlas Park, it has a pretty murky reputation. Clockwork forage in parking lots, and the Hellions who roam this neighborhood have access to a lot of Superadine. A gate to Skyway Junction, along with a massive statue of a revered hero, share the skyline with skyscrapers and apartment buildings.

Hyperion Way (Orange – Level 3-6)

To the east of the plaza is Hyperion Way. Many who live in the area felt The Hollowing (a massive troll uprising in 2000) firsthand - most buildings in the area suffered minor structural damage from the massive shockwave. Hellions of all flavors, from level 1 to level 7, can be found in the area. The Clockwork are fairly active in the area as well.

The Promenade (Yellow – Level 3-4)

To the north of the plaza is The Promenade, which contains an entrance to Steel Canyon. The Promenade is known throughout the country for its theaters and music halls. It's difficult to walk more than a few steps without seeing a poster or billboard for the next great stage show. Nevertheless, even in the shadow of the spotlights, you can count on seeing low-level (1 to 4) Hellions looking for a pocket to pick. Clockwork of a similar level range are known to smash spotlights open and steal the powerful lamps within.

Prometheus Park (Yellow – Level 1-4)

Directly to the west of Atlas Plaza is Prometheus Park and its environs. The park looks peaceful at first glance, and it usually is. However, this neighborhood is still a bit nervous about long walks in the park - Hellions (around level 4) occasionally cause problems for joggers, and they're almost always looking smug on the park bridge. Around the southwest borders of the park, you can clearly see remnants of buildings and abandoned warehouses torched by the Hellions. Piles of ash and dusty debris surround most buildings near the park, and of course, they're popular places for Hellions to hang out.

ATLAS PARK FACTIONS

Freedom Phalanx Hero Guild

The most beloved of all the Hero Guilds, the Freedom Phalanx is the biggest independent Guild by far and the second largest in the world. Created by the Protectors, including legendary superheroes like Starheart, Synapse, Sister Psyche, among others, it operates with little, if any oversight, free to conduct their heroic business as they see fit. They're right next to City Hall in Atlas Plaza.

Mega City Police Department

Under the command of Chief Conrad Bochco, the Paragon Police Department, or the “blue shield” as they are often called, has a long established history in Paragon City. They are the first responders, fighting the thugs and punks that don't require a superhero's intervention. Equiped with state-of-the-art weapons, armor, combat drones and mechanical systems, they are the first line of defense for Mega City.

The Hellions

The Hellions are a satanist street gang whose trademarks are arson and fire. The Hellions are a relatively new gang on the streets of Mega City, whose ranks have swollen recently to tremendous levels. Their arsonist tendencies threaten to burn the city down, leaving them only rubble and ash in which to wallow – some say that’s exactly what the Hellions would want. The nature of the dark forces that empower the Hellions is debatable, but Paragon Police and agents of MAGI have documented many reports of gang members gaining supernatural abilities. More worrisome, perhaps, is the testimony of friends and families who describe members as having become twisted by their initiation into the gang. Members maintain a strict code of secrecy and solidarity, even under police interrogation, and the gang leaders – the Fallen and the Damned – take their secrets to the grave.

The Clockworks

The Clockworks are a strange gang of robots with no apparent purpose other than scavenging as much metal as possible and build more and more of themselves. Heroes and MCPD will have to do some investigations to discover their true agenda. This villain group is a common sight at low levels in certain zones of Mega City with heroes between levels 1 and 20, being enough to keep them in check. The Clockworks are notorious for quickly draining Heroes and Villains of their endurance, tiring them faster than usual, and rendering them nearly defenseless once exhausted.

Generic Villains

These villains have no allies. Only enemies.
