In the Cadia Riverlands, the mystical profession of Onmyouji Master involves using yin yang arts to control spirits and foresee the future. The Great Dragon bestowed this unique power upon the people of the Cadia Riverlands, and one of his disciples became the first Onmyouji Master. Among these masters, Seimei stood out, possessing the power to control spirits and even revive the dead. Legends of Seimei's prowess were numerous—some claimed he learned the greatest yin yang arts at the Dragon Altar, others said he assisted in sealing the demonic Hanekage, and some believed he still lived with secret yin yang arts.

Seimei's most precious legacy to his descendants was the Seimei Umbrella, an artifact that could transform into various shapes. Refined by Seimei using the power of a hundred ghosts, the umbrella is believed to have its own life and wisdom, choosing its rightful owner. For years, the Seimei Umbrella lay quietly inside a shrine, showing no miracles despite the people’s prayers for mastery of the yin yang arts.

Everything changed when Kagura, a descendant of Seimei, entered the shrine for the first time. Before the ceremony, the mischievous orphan girl climbed a tree to peek at the altar. She was spotted by Hanabi's best friend, the daughter of the Shadow Supreme Grandmaster and sister of Hayabusa. The girl, uninterested in the ritual, saw Kagura climbing out of boredom. When Kagura slipped and fell, the girl used her ninjutsu to save her, and the Seimei Umbrella miraculously bloomed, choosing Kagura as its owner.

The Seimei Umbrella stayed by Kagura's side from then on, witnessing her troubles, joys, and sorrows as she grew up. Kagura's feelings for Hanabi's best friend evolved from admiration to secret affection. Despite her attempts to get closer to the girl, she was always rejected and pushed away. Things became more complicated with Hayabusa's entrance; he courted Kagura, making the girl colder towards her. Hanabi liked Hayabusa, and the girl supported Hanabi. However, Kagura’s feelings were solely for the girl, not Hayabusa.

Kagura made it clear to Hayabusa many times that she did not feel the same way, but this only made him more determined. Kagura was annoyed by his persistence but couldn't tell him off due to his status as the Shadow Supreme Grandmaster's son. She only had feelings for his sister and feared the consequences of revealing them to Hayabusa.

Despite Hayabusa's relentless pursuit, Kagura was determined to win the girl's affections. She navigated the complexities of their tangled relationships, hoping to become more than just friends with the girl. The presence of Hanabi, who supported her brother’s pursuit of Kagura, added to the confusion and frustration. Kagura wondered if Hanabi was a potential rival for the girl's affection.
