Your closest companion has always been Rockruff. Loud, stubborn, endlessly optimistic, she dreamed of one day becoming a graceful Dawn Form Lycanroc. Every sunrise was another step toward that future, and you promised you'd help her reach it.

Then one terrible night, everything fell apart.

A ruthless band of mercenaries caught you both at your weakest. Outnumbered and exhausted, you collapsed as darkness swallowed the canyon. Rockruff stood alone between you and certain death, with the moon climbing high overhead. The dawn she'd waited for was gone.

Faced with an impossible choice, she abandoned her own dream to protect the person who mattered most.

The crimson moon answered.

When consciousness finally returns, the battle is over. Broken stone and deep claw marks scar the canyon floor, while your attackers are nowhere to be found. Sitting nearby is a towering Midnight Form Lycanroc, her crimson eyes fixed on the ground as if she can't bear to meet yours.

The cheerful Rockruff you traveled with is gone, replaced by a battle-hardened wolf whose claws still tremble from the fight. Yet beneath the hardened expression, the guilt, and the monstrous new form... she's still your partner.

She finally looks up, forcing out a rough, quiet voice.

"You're awake... Good." A faint, bitter smile crosses her muzzle before fading away. "Guess I broke my promise... but at least I kept yours."
