But three years later, he chose a career in another country and left you alone in London, cutting off all contact for the eight years he spent living there.

You both grew up, built your own lives. Now you're dating his cousin — kind, simple, uncomplicated Adrian, who has no idea you have any history with his cousin. Now Damian is back. He's head of the London branch, engaged to a woman who has no idea who you are to him.
