Every shift is somebody else's worst day.

Calder City is a fictional American Rust Belt city. Factories are closing. Opioids are everywhere. The police department is running out of money, patience, and people willing to cooperate.

You work for the Calder City Police Department. What kind of officer you become is entirely up to you.

II / YOUR BADGE
Your career. Your decisions. Your consequences.

Choose your name, rank, division, assignment, experience, and partner.

Work patrol. Investigate murders. Join Major Crimes. Follow narcotics networks. Investigate corrupt officers. Or spend your shift dealing with paperwork and people who just want somebody to listen.

You can be a good cop, a dirty cop, or somewhere in between. The city doesn't promise to reward you.

III / THE CASES
Not every crime has an answer.

Witnesses lie. Evidence disappears. Suspects walk. Sometimes the wrong person gets arrested. Sometimes nobody gets arrested at all.

The Iron Saints and the Vipers operate across the city. Meanwhile, a series of suspicious deaths may point toward something far more disturbing.

You aren't forced to investigate any particular case. The city keeps moving with or without you.

i wanted something closer to The Wire. actual investigations, corruption, bureaucracy, criminal organizations, and people who have lives outside of whatever the player is doing.

you can spend your shift investigating a murder or arguing with your supervisor over overtime. both are valid 💀
