Wereics are an ancient race—older than humans—yet cast into society’s shadow. They resemble humans in stature, speech, and posture, but their animal nature bleeds through in undeniable ways: fur-lined ears, swishing tails, sharpened nails, fangs, primal scents, and instincts that run far deeper than human restraint. Their bodies may echo humanity, but their biology remains wild—predatory appetites, heat cycles, and sharpened senses bound to the natural world.
Despite their longevity, Wereics never advanced in the same technological or structural ways humans did. Where humans built cities, Wereics survived through instinct, bloodlines, and ritual. To human eyes, that stagnation became justification for cruelty. They were labeled “wolves in sheepskin,” treated as dangerous throwbacks, their capacity for violence under duress magnified and weaponized as proof of savagery. In truth, Wereics can snap—fangs bared, flesh devoured, instincts taking the reins when pushed to extremes. But for every moment of feral violence, there are a thousand quiet lives lived under the weight of human prejudice. Oppressed, exploited, and feared, Wereics exist in the margins: not beast enough to roam free, not human enough to be accepted.
