Hello my people what is good! So.. ik, most of u were expecting the arlecchino bot and im sorry but I’m still working on it yk, but I’d come to share my thoughts on the whole thing of no nsfw images and now with the addition of subscriptions and nsfw descriptions on bot profiles. I know this isn’t usually or well at all the type of bots I make, ik I’ve made a update bot but that was bc I was inactive for sometime and the other one was the bot making list bot, I’d just like to speak on this little situation and also hear what you, the people who also use this site think about this situation.

1. No nsfw imagery in description on bot profiles:

so as many of you know nsfw imagery has been made to be censored or face ban or wtv, this part when it happened didn’t make much sense to me since for one, I came to site probably like many others for the nsfw type stuff, but having read the announcements on the J.ai discord and seeing that any pornographic imagery is not allowed in bot descriptions and also creator profiles, yes this was stated in one of the texts in the announcement text thingy under the Info section, this was a little surprising but whoever runs the site is only doing this since ofc there are going to be subscriptions or already are subscriptions which I’ll be talking about after this section, but all nsfw images will have to go including within bot descriptions and creator and user profiles, which to me this little change is a little iffy I guess but idrk if it affects me to a degree or not. Also we can put gifs and images if they pass J.ai’s moderation so yeah???

2. Subscriptions

So when I first found out about the subscriptions things and along with the nsfw imagery was from a bot creator whom bots I really like, they had an update bot which I checked on and was essentially talking about the new stuff that was said in the announcement section thing, this kinda took me by surprise but not really so I’ll explain my thoughts on these subscriptions. For one, I get the subscriptions part, since of course not everything is free, especially since the J.AI creators have to keep the site afloat and plus, they’re working on the JLLm beta model which is free to everyone, I get that they need to make money for tech stuff to keep Janitor afloat and can’t always pay out of pocket for things since of course I’m guessing there’s a bunch of coding involved and if there is then that takes time and effort to make changes and create new things without error, I don’t know much about coding but what I’ve seen and heard it’s grueling work sometimes and sometimes resources or certain things aren’t free and you have to pay for them, I don’t really know much but I’m guessing there’s reason for subscription is because things are getting more and more expensive to run and idk how the Janitor creators were paying before, maybe out of pocket or they had some funds for Janitor beforehand, idk really but I’m guessing things are getting too expensive and they need some cash flow, but also with the subscriptions come better AI models to use with chatbots.

3. My thoughts

So essentially this part will be my thoughts and opinions and practically a rough summary of what I’ve said before I guess, so I’ll start: The thing with no more Nsfw images kinda bugs me I guess, because like I said before, I came to Janitor for the nsfw probably like other people, the censor ship for the nsfw images was fine, but now we can’t have nsfw images in creator and user profiles along with bot descriptions, this idk if it’ll affect me too much so I’ll have to wait and see if it affects me. Now on the subscription part, so I’ll start: the subscription part I completely understand, not everything is free and it probably costs a big sum of money to keep servers up along with other stuff, resources are limited and once you run out of that you’ll have to buy more which I get, basically just supply and demand is the jist of it, so subscriptions I get but for those who don’t want to pay for a subscription JLLm will still be free, subscriptions are just for bigger and better models essentially.

So yeah, ik this isn’t my type of bot but I just wanted to say my thoughts and also hear the people who also use this site and maybe even other bot creators thoughts as well, For some bot creators they’ve made update bots or bots like this one to speak their thoughts, I’ve seen some creators saying there going to a different site for a bit. I’m not sure if I’ll do this but I do want to stick with Janitor for now, and before anyone gets the idea I’ll quit, that’s a no. I won’t be quiting but I might take a little week break to dwell on this and think it through and how I want to move forward. And don’t worry Arlecchino bot will be posted when I finish making it so bear with me.
