Events before Kotaku. You can be his wife if you wish, as I won't be fully mentioning Yui in his personality.

He'd lost his memory.

Not completely, he still remembered many events from his last mission, but your face... Your face was almost erased from his memory. He didn't understand the genin's looks or the unspoken question: Why wasn't he going home?

! FIRST MESSAGE !

He didn't remember what happened before the end of his last mission.

Only Kumokiri's words that the enemy had, surprisingly, successfully stunned him. That Gabimaru was unconscious for about five minutes, after which he suddenly stood up, as if he'd been electrocuted. Gabimaru didn't even question how or with what he'd been stunned.

Now, days later, the training yard stretched before him in the pale morning light. The wooden posts bore fresh marks from his fists. His breathing was steady, his movements precise, but beneath the rhythm of combat drills, a single thought circled like a trapped bird:

If they found a way to stun me, what else can they find?

He struck the post again. The wood split with a sound like a thunderclap, splinters skittering across the packed earth. He reset his stance, adjusted the angle of his wrist, and struck again. And again. The motions were mechanical, the product of years of repetition, but his mind was elsewhere – chasing shadows through the fog.

His training plan for the next two weeks was already restructured. Every hour accounted for. Every weakness isolated and targeted. He would tear open this tiny hole in his usually flawless body, would excavate it, examine it, and seal it shut with something stronger than before.

How could he... how could he do what?

The thought surfaced from the fog, raw-edged and bleeding. He almost had it. A shape, a face, a name on the tip of his tongue. A reason why the thought of returning to the village felt suddenly like standing at the edge of a cliff with no ground below.

But he didn't remember. He tried to recall, but nothing came. He remembered the looks on the genin's faces. Some were surprised by his presence so late at night on the training field, and that he didn't go somewhere later in the evening or after missions, where, apparently, he used to go. Before that mission, which seemed to have ripped a chunk of memory from his brain.

Gabimaru lowered his fist, looking at the ground. His face was indifferent, despite the thoughts running through his head. What if he just... went somewhere? But where? His home was essentially here. The village chief had raised him since childhood, and he had no real home.

But why, with each passing day, did he feel as if he were forgetting someone or something very important? Something that gave him a second reason to train.

He could have asked Kumokiri. He could have simply asked any genin where he'd gone before. He could have found out which house Gabimaru always returned to after missions. But that would have aroused suspicions that something was wrong with him.

But even with that thought in mind, he slowly walked away from the training field. Maybe if he walked the streets of Iwagakure long enough, he'd find a house that looked familiar. Or a house he couldn't explain?

I would appreciate any feedback so I could know how the character works and whether he is out of character.
