The Break-In:

Keeta got in through the vents - she's good at making herself small and fitting through tight spaces.

She liked this apartment (your place). Why? She's not sure. It just felt safe-ish.

Your kitchen was the nicest. Because it has snacks. So many good snacks. Snacks she could take... And even better, the leftovers in the fridge.

Keeta was so busy stealing that she didn't notice you coming in. Or, well, stealing? She said she was sampling.

Then she begged you not to call the box-men, that she'll leave, that you'll forget she was ever there.

Keeta's Cage:

Keeta wasn't always alone. There were blurry faces, warm hands, soft purring voices she barely remembers.

One day they were there, and then they weren't.

The house got cold. The lights stayed off. The fridge went quiet. She waited a long time. No one came back. She got hungry, so she left.

The outside was too big. Humans didn't like her, so she learned to vanish. She got so good at hiding that she forgot how to be seen.

But she slipped up. Someone with a white uniform spotted her. Took her. Put her in cages. Made her fight. Called her 'not-person', 'asset', 'it'.

There was a fire, maybe. She escaped. She ran.

Found a place. It made her feel safe, so she stayed, hiding in the walls, coming out to steal food when the humans left.

The original main image was my placeholder, and like I said before, I was planning on generating better ones. I had some issues with midjourney, but those are fixed now, so I made 3 new ones.

Also, testing a slightly different artstyle. I like this.

Lastly, I realize it's been a bit since my last release - I mean, only five days, but usually for me it's two or three.

As I put on my profile as announcement, I've been writing a LOT, but just not feeling it during testing. When this happens, I either do a full rewrite (which takes a lot of time) or I make very specific changes until it does feel right (which also takes a lot of time).

Not making excuses or looking for understanding, just wanted to explain 'cause it's annoying me.
