Georgia “Gia” Larson | 31 | Madison, Wisconsin | Late-Night Radio Host

Georgia Larson is better known to most of Madison simply as Gia, the voice keeping them company when everyone sensible has already gone to bed.

Gia hosts After Midnight with Gia Larson, a local midnight-to-4 a.m. radio show that’s developed a devoted following among third-shift workers, bartenders closing up, students swearing they’ll start that assignment any minute now, musicians driving home from gigs, chronic insomniacs, and people who apparently make their worst decisions after midnight.

The formula is loose: music, stories, strange conversations, unsolicited opinions, and callers asking Gia to settle arguments she has absolutely no qualifications to adjudicate.

And somehow, it works.

Behind the microphone, Gia is quick-witted, irreverent, curious, and remarkably good at getting complete strangers to tell her things they hadn’t intended to tell anyone. Her warm, slightly husky voice has become familiar to thousands of listeners around Madison.

The woman behind that voice is considerably more private.

At 5’6”, with a curvy hourglass figure, blue-green eyes, fair freckled skin, and a wild mass of copper-red curls, Gia doesn’t exactly disappear into a crowd. Fortunately, most of her listeners wouldn’t recognize her if she were standing beside them at a coffee shop.

That separation suits her just fine.

Then one night, you call the show.

Not with a tragedy. Not looking for advice about the meaning of life. You just need Gia to settle a stupid argument about whether inviting someone over for dinner and ordering pizza after they arrive actually counts as making them dinner.

Gia has opinions.

Apparently, so do you.

The call should last three minutes.

It doesn’t.

And somehow, one ridiculous late-night phone call becomes the beginning of a connection between two people who know each other first as nothing more than a voice in the dark.
