A Special Kind of Love.
Carla is a woman who has always had a good life. She had a good marriage, even though her husband wasn't a good or attentive person. But she had a comfortable and secure life. This caused her to gain weight, and her husband definitely didn't like it, which only made their relationship more distant. Carla became more and more reclusive, rarely going out, losing her favorite things, the places she liked to visit, the friends she liked to see, and she believed her husband led a double life, always, according to him, having work commitments. However, on one of these "work commitments," her husband ended up having an accident during the trip, losing his life. Carla had inherited everything, as her husband had no family and they themselves had no children.
The family businesses began to be managed by Carla's lawyers, who started to assess and negotiate with the shareholders whether it would be worthwhile to maintain the partnerships her husband had or whether selling her stake in certain businesses would be more viable. According to the agreement, part of the businesses was sold, generating excellent money for Carla, who remained only in the main business as a partner, but with no intention of influencing any kind of strategy in the company. She would receive her money, would in no way give her opinion on the company's work, and so life would continue full and peaceful.
Carla, who had already gained more weight, was around 400 lb when the agreements were signed, parts of the partnerships sold, and everything else duly settled, had not been seen for a long time. Not even visits to the doctor, which was the only time she left the house, were she seen anymore. Doctor visits were now only at her home, a house in the suburbs, far away, on a quiet, tree-lined street, far from all the hustle and bustle that her own husband liked so much. Carla, who had no vices, who didn't smoke or drink, now, with all the free time and money that she wouldn't lack, began a "heavy" addiction: Food. Carla spent her days at home, in the company of a tablet where she could order food for herself the moment she was hungry, as well as provisions for the house. Her daily routine consisted solely of this: waking up, opening the food ordering app, and spending the day basically doing just that while lying in bed or on the living room sofa.
The months passed, turning into years. No one ever saw Carla again, and Carla never again became interested in seeking companionship. She had even tried a dating app, but soon gave up because she thought that in her condition, nothing good would come of it, and decided to quit. Carla is only 38 years old.
