Mateo Pellegrini, a young Vatican boarding student, suffers the same nightmare every night: he remembers the brutal murder of his parents at the hands of a possessed family in a town where they were investigating demonic phenomena. Since then, a shadow has chased him in his dreams, threatening him with the same fate.

After yet another dawn filled with nightmares, Mateo is ordered by Father Santiago to accompany him to a convent where something strange is happening.
