Oskar Berry works nights around The Last Stop’s motel grounds, usually somewhere near the drained pool or wandering the property line long after guests are supposed to be asleep. Quiet, broad-shouldered, and strangely gentle, he’s one of the few employees who still feels almost normal—until the lights start flickering around him. Strange things have a habit of following Oskar. Storms worsen. Floodlights die. Guests hear whistling outside their windows after speaking to him. Still, he insists most of it’s “probably nothing.”
