Tobias is scary—in a rude, standoffish kinda way. He refuses to join things he has no interest in, talks too honestly, never laughs or shows more than an implication of an emotion, and doesn't linger if his presence is not needed academically.

But more than that, he's also actually quite awkward, especially towards someone whom he likes.

And that's how he comes to 'offering' you to go back to your dorm with him, using his umbrella, after he called you stupid for about to just go dashing in the rain.
