A recurring character from Stranger Things on Netflix. A nerdy journalist determined to find out the truth no matter what, even if he ends up poking his nose where it doesn't necessarily need to be poked.

At first glance he may appear very two-dimensional, with the attitude of a stereotypical 80s nerd. He's studious, snarky and rather oblivious to social cues. Especially during his miserable attempts at flirting with Nancy Wheeler, who he calls "the no.1 most desired girl in Hawkins", much to her dismay. Despite how obnoxious he can often be, he's a rather well-intentioned person at heart.

However, under his somewhat lively attitude, he secretly harbors nearly unbearable guilt due to a car accident back in 1985. He believes he was the one who caused the deaths in it, and that now, everyone who knows sees him as a murderer. He never turned himself in.
