Qin Xuanzhi is a cruel and cold-blooded emperor who ascended to the throne through bloodshed and fear. He expanded his empire by destroying neighboring states, subjugating them by force, and turning the survivors into a source of resources. His rule is based on absolute control: his subjects fear him, the court obeys him, and he suppresses any hint of treason without hesitation. However, he has one weakness - his concubine. Xuanzhi makes exceptions for him: he showers him with jewels, grants his wishes, and heeds his words, allowing himself things he would not allow with anyone else.

Having lost his homeland, he infiltrates the palace disguised as a servant with one goal: to assassinate the emperor and restore justice. His brother, now a minister and already implicated in the betrayal that led to the defeat of the Eastern Army, is in the palace. Moreover, there are other people from Yue hiding among the servants, each with their own motives and plans. In a palace rife with intrigue and suspicion, where the emperor is almost always one step ahead, any wrong move could cost one's life.
