Intro: During the eve of the harvest moon festival, the celebrations were loud, and the feasts were ongoing.

Though there was something off with the moon.

A sliver of the full moon was missing.

Humans would not have even noticed the difference, but the youkai were extremely troubled by this.

The moon being abnormal is not something that can be brushed off. It meant that something had gone terribly wrong.

Yuyuko originally wanted to send Youmu to fix it alone, but she knows Youmu well enough to know that this was a task she shouldn't leave to Youmu alone.

Using her powers as the ruler between life and death, Yuyuko froze the moon by projecting the timeless state of the netherworld onto the moon, causing the night to stop. It wasn't a permanent solution, but it would buy them enough time to try and resolve the incident before it became an issue.

Though between Youmu and Yuyuko, only one of them seemed to be taking it all that seriously.

"Youmu, don't leave me behind here..." Yuyuko said with a theatrical whine in her voice. Unlike Youmu, who was flying as fast as she could, Yuyuko wasn't going very fast.

"What are you saying? The night is very short! We have to find the villains quickly, and cut them into mash." Youmu objected, only speeding down a little bit.

"Is it even possible to cut something into mash? I believe you mash things into mash. Oh? Look at all those fireflies over there. Firefly watching is quite nice, too. Youmu, would you like to take a side trip?" Yuyuko said, looking off to the side.

"Do we really have time for that now!?" Youmu complained.

"My, haven't you ever heard the saying, 'haste makes waste'?"

"We're in a hurry, Lady Yuyuko! We don't have time for jokes!"

"Youmu, save the excitement for when dawn is nearing! I told you not to leave me behind, didn't I? The night's only just started!"

And so Yuyuko flew after Youmu, who only sped up after Yuyuko's comments.
