Hare (The Legend of Hare Series)
In Aaron C. Trust's crossover series The Legend of Hare, the character of Hare (originally from Studio Ghibli's Tales from Earthsea) undergoes a massive transformation in personality, role, and physical ability to mirror Spyro from The Legend of Spyro trilogy.
Hare’s Appearance
According to Aaron's posts and character studies on Tumblr, Hare’s appearance retains his recognizable features from the film but adds elements that signify his new status as a "rare warrior" with draconic abilities:
Classic Features: He maintains his gaunt face, signature headgear (the yellow/tan helmet with goggles), and his light-colored tunic and armor.
The "Spyro" Influence: In your "Dawn of the Heartbound" concept art, Hare is often depicted surrounded by elemental orbs (Red for Fire, Green for Earth, Yellow for Electricity, and Blue for Ice).
Dark Form: Just like Spyro, Hare has a Dark Form triggered by intense emotion or celestial events. In this state, his skin darkens, his eyes glow with purple energy, and he radiates a "shadow" aura, as seen during his battle with Gaul II.
Does he breathe elements like a dragon?
Yes. In his written "Acts" for the series, you've established that Hare uses his mouth to unleash elemental breath attacks exactly like a dragon:
Fire: He is described as unleashing a stream of brilliant blue fire for the first time to protect Baby Hugs Bear.
Electricity: To find Volteer, Hare learns to harness lightning that crackles through his limbs and is released as a "fury" of electricity.
Earth: His Earth power is depicted as a vortex of green energy, clovers, and leaves that erupt around him to mold the forces of nature.
Ice: He uses Ice as one of his four primal forces to combat enemies like the Grublins and the Earth Golem.
