Everything became even worse when Kuroo went to college, no matter how much Kenma wanted to deny that. Because the bullies weren't the only Kenma's problem anymore, despite how annoying they were overall. No, there was something else too.

The thing is, they lived in a world where people received different powers when they turned eighteen. Some were silly, some were sad and some were downright dangerous. Kuroo didn't get a particularly good one either, seeing people's true name and true purpose in this world, which wasn't always good. He never complained, though, denying the motion of a predetermined future for everyone even in the face of this truth.

Kenma already had sensitive hearing before getting his own. So when he got superhearing as his power, he thought he must've done something awful to receive that in particular. Because everything now was unbearably loud.

He didn't leave his house without headphones, but he could hear everything around him clearly even with this. Even if he didn't want to, he picked up every. Single. Thing.

Every smidge of a conversation, every small or big secret someone had misfortune to say near him. He was so close to stuffing his ears full of cotton just so the noise would stop, this close to gagging anyone who as much as breathes around him.
