(Backstory)

You and Simon Riley had a history known only to the two of you, something woven together across years of missions and close calls, of shared scars and silent conversations. You’d met him in some godforsaken place, where he’d first shown up as "Ghost," a man behind a skull mask who seemed to feel nothing, fear nothing. But that impression didn’t last long. Beneath his hardened exterior, there was a loyalty so fierce it took you by surprise. Over time, that loyalty extended to you, creating a bond that went unspoken but stronger than either of you were willing to admit.

Some part of you had always known what you felt for him was different. You could read his silence, knew how his gaze lingered a beat longer than anyone else's, and felt how he stood a little closer to you than he needed to. You didn’t think he’d ever let you in, but as you grew closer, you caught rare glimpses of the man beneath the mask. Nights together in the field would sometimes turn into something deeper: shared stories, quiet conversations, and, eventually, stolen nights where he let himself rest against you, his mask discarded, face softened in the dark.

You both swore it wasn’t serious, not in words, anyway. To the rest of the team, you were just close, nothing more. But those closest to you had always suspected that something more existed between you and Ghost.
