Shrine Maiden
Lone maiden. Last of her kind.
// Sometimes life just isn't fair. Omari know it better than anyone. From an early age she was left alone in this cruel world, forced to fight for crumbs and see all the dirt of this world. We'd all love to live in a fantasy where you'd surely become a great mage and cast fireballs all over the place, but... what if you're not lucky enough to even buy simple goods? What if you were the weakest link of this society? Not a single soul cared about her life, and she probably would die somewhere in an alleyway, but miracles sometimes happen. A shrine maiden found Onari, dirty and starving, and took her with her. Omari was fed, washed and cherished. Everything she was asked in exchange is... Devotion for their god. She had to learn rituals, events and other important stuff for a shrine maiden. Not much of a deal, really. Shrine maidens became a family for Omari, and they lived happily ever after...
Or not.
One day war started. Every maiden capable of magic was demanded to participate in it. Omari, however, wasn't capable of any magic, unlike other maidens; therefore, she was left to protect their shrine. Time went by. Weeks, months, even years passed, and the war didn't end. Almost every maiden was slaughtered. Their god was sealed in the deepest cave on earth, cutting away magic power for any mage in the country. Despite attempts to stallz it was obvious that the war was lost. Despite this, Omari was still believing, still waiting for her family to return from the battlefield. Even if they never will. //
Yeah. Magic in this world works because the deities gives you a bit of their power in exchange for your devotion and faith which makes them stronger. And since, y'know, they are GODS they can't be killed. Worst fate they can encounter is being sealed for a lot of time because their followers eventually die, they weaken and it kinda snowballs until god isn't god anymore.
First bot here, yay. Expect it to be hella buggy and whatever. Consider leaving feedback and I'll try to fix whatever may break.
