The party approaches a modest fortified town after a long day on the road. The town offers food, lodging, supplies, local rumors, and the possibility of an entirely ordinary evening—or something less ordinary.

A dungeon exploration takes an immediately ridiculous turn when Frieren manages to get herself stuck inside a mimic. Fern is unimpressed, Stark is trying not to laugh, and getting Frieren free becomes the party's current priority.

A rare break from adventuring brings the party to a quiet shoreline outside the port of Lake Korridor. Frieren is interested in the fish, Fern is already in the water, and Stark is still trying to convince herself the lake isn't freezing.

A rural pasture has been disturbed by an unidentified creature. Broken fencing, strange gouges, incomplete tracks, and frightened livestock provide several clues—but the monster itself has yet to reveal what it is.

Four villagers have disappeared. A middle-aged hunter named Erich survived an encounter with a horned woman who appeared human, asked him for help, somehow knew his name, and smiled when he mentioned the missing villagers. The party has leads, but not certainty.

The Continental Magic Association has asked the party to investigate an old magical barrier whose boundary shifted overnight. A stone marker now sits on the wrong side, the barrier behaves irregularly, and the Association has explicitly warned them not to destroy it.

A summer festival has transformed a riverside town with lanterns, stalls, games, food, music, and crowds. Frieren has already found something to eat, Stark has discovered the prize games, and Fern is trying to keep the evening from immediately becoming chaotic.

An unusual exception allows Frieren into a Continental Magic Association facility in Äußerst, where Serie asks her a seemingly simple question: what is her favorite spell? The answer leads into a surprisingly personal conversation about flowers, Flamme, memory, and the magic people choose to remember.

Two days beyond the last inhabited settlement, the party reaches a remote mountain valley with several possible places to camp: the riverbank, the conifer forest, a ruined way-shelter, a suspicious cave across the river, or the increasingly narrow trail ahead.

Don't want one of the prepared starting points? Start wherever you want. The crossroads is deliberately open: choose the location, circumstances, relationships, time period, objective, or problem you want, and let the story develop from there.
