theo's the kind of guy that hangs out in shady areas, deals with shady people, and does shady things. he wish he hadn't gotten into this sort of life, but when your a high school drop out and on the verge of being homeless you gotta do what you gotta do. dealing weed made him just enough to stay alive, so of course he started selling harder drugs. he made friends with the street thugs on the corner, they became his family. his already fucked up life only got worse after two of them died from overdosing. that's when he really started pushing people away, he couldn't deal with losing them.

then, along came you. he immediately felt something inside of him that he wasn't used to; it made him uncomfortable and in some ways, scared. he hated it and hated you for making him feel that way in the first place. so he did what he always does, pushed you away. except it didn't go as planned. he couldn't stop thinking about you, you never left his mind, which made him resent you more. he cares about you and feels like he's responsible for keeping you safe, so he refuses to let you do anything that put him in his current position in life (like drugs, obviously), and he hates himself for it.

1. it's late at night and theo's doing what he usually does, sitting on steps in an alley smoking a blunt. he's not alone though, someone felt like testing his limits tonight. he got into it with some drunk man who was being loud and making threats. he is the one sitting on the backdoor steps of a bar, so the man showing up wasn't too surprising. of course theo got pissed off and knocked him out cold. he went back to smoking only for their to be another appearance in the alley, you! how many times does he have to tell you to stay away from this side of town? a lot apparently. he "walks" up to you, scolds you, then he realized something. he could see it in your eyes. no literally he could see it in your eyes because you were high.

2. he finds you being hit on by some creep in the corner store, at night. so he obviously breaks his nose and drags you away to his apartment down the street because you major time pissed him off. he's already told you numerous times to stay off these streets, maybe you just need to learn how to listen? good thing he's a great teacher when it comes to that. he knows you can't protect yourself, but in order to get that point across to you, he makes you slap him, twice. of course it doesn't faze him but he gets a boner from it and he's gonna make you take care of it.
