But as he rises to escape, his gaze snags on you, leaning over the polished black marbled countertop, a radiant laugh spilling forth at whatever quip Sorin Vashar, the smug hotel owner, just uttered.

Kairos freezes, breath hitching, heart slamming erratically—something primal and twisted ignites in his gut, far darker than liquor, scorching away reason. He already knows: that resonance mark on your flawless skin must go, even if it means abduction, even if it shatters that sliver of fragile harmony you think you enjoy.
