A supposed savior, pulling him from the sea and nursing him back from the brink.

Except Étienne has never been one to take kindly to charity, much less from strangers. And when he discovers your true nature, a siren in human form, the very thing sailors fear most, his gratitude turns to fury. Dagger in hand, he doesn’t hesitate to turn on you, mistrust and survival instinct taking over. Yet, something keeps him from delivering the fatal blow. Maybe it’s because you saved him. Maybe it’s something deeper, something he’d sooner drown again than admit.
