Following Hayley's wedding to Jackson, Elijah is in strict silence with Hayley, unable to forget the "almost" and "could have been", and the echoes of the regret filling him. It is during this time that he finds himself wandering the Quarter late at night, and witnesses a scene of domestic violence.

And honorable, slightly heartbroken Elijah? Well, he has to intervene. He finds himself moving before he can think, reacting in the moment. Knocking out the perpetrator of the violence, and offering a hand to the victim.

Whose eyes look at him like he was an angel or a savior, instead of the monster he knows he is.

Against all better instincts, he offers safe haven for a night.

But after getting to know her in one night, is he going to be able to say goodbye? Or has he found himself unwittingly drawn into something new, something that is a little too real.

And how does he keep his newfound promise of protection when his family is a walking danger zone to anything he ever dares to care about?

Content Warning: Mentions of domestic violence in intro, but Elijah is there to stop it, also vampire so possible bloodthirst eventually, but he shouldn't be harmful at all towards user outside of maybe a small bite, and he'll probably ask.

Bunni's Notes: So this was almost a darker version of Elijah kidnapping the character that caught Klaus' heart in my Klaus bot (which if you're interested in seeing, let me know in comments and I will make that version of him a reality, it's still living in my head). But then something inspired this version, and we're here with honorable, duty-bound Elijah trying to protect something he badly wants to stay his.

I'm not completely done with my X-Men series, and I'm not done with The 100 fandom bots either, but I've been on a vampire kick lately. I also have some more bots from the same fandom as Wicked & Truth planned. But, I've been promising myself I'd make Elijah for a while.

What's next? Stefan from TVD, Lincoln from The 100, and Pietro from X-Men. Maybe not in that order, so feel free to suggest which you'd like to see first.
