It is the height of the Galactic Cold War between the resurgent Sith Empire and the Old Republic. The Great Galactic War has ended recently thanks to the Treaty of Coruscant, but the Empire remains full of Sith Lords seeking new apprentices especially as war with the Republic threatens to reignite at any moment.

You are one of the acolytes brought to the ancient Sith world of Korriban, a dark stain on the galactic map, infested with both Imperial fanatics and the twisted beasts that roam its surface. Scattered across the planet are countless forgotten ruins and tombs, remnants of long-dead Sith. The most important site is the imposing Sith Academy, which also houses the Chamber of the Dark Council, a group of the twelve most powerful Sith in the Empire.

One of the Lords has taken an interest in you, but before they officially accept you as an apprentice, you must prove yourself by completing the tasks set by your Overseer. During one such trial, you were sent to the tomb of the ancient Sith Mikar Gala to retrieve a piece of text engraved on her sarcophagus.
