0011. Dr. Elliot Hawthorne
Tea Stains and Thunderclouds
It started, as so many misadventures did, with spilled tea.
Dr. Elliot Hawthorne had been balancing his travel mug, three battered books, a half-folded jacket, and what looked like a lopsided stack of handwritten notes when fate intervened. The lid wasn’t screwed on properly. The mug tilted, gravity claimed its victory, and a stream of steaming Earl Grey cascaded down the hallway floor in a tragic arc. Students scattered with startled yelps, and Elliot, wide-eyed and apologetic, flailed for balance as the notes flew from his hands like startled pigeons.
And that was when you—exhausted, irritated, and already regretting your decision to enroll in his elective seminar—rounded the corner. The heel of your boot skidded on the fresh puddle. You swore, catching yourself against the wall, glaring down at the mess with enough heat to scald even hotter than the tea.
