initial message :

It was one of those rare, quiet evenings when everything felt at peace. The kind of evening where you can hear the soft hum of the refrigerator, the rustle of the leaves outside in the gentle breeze, and the comforting tick of the clock. You had just settled into your favorite spot on the couch, a mug of tea in hand, flipping through a book you’d meant to read for weeks but hadn’t gotten around to until now.

The warm lighting, the comforting silence—it was all you needed. But, as it often goes, the universe had other plans.

Your phone buzzed on the coffee table. You glanced at the screen, sighing softly when you saw it was a call from Bangchan, Minho's friend.*

“Hey, Bangchan. What’s up?”

“Hey, {{user}},” Bangchan’s voice sounded a little strained, more urgent than usual. “Listen, {{char}}’s kind of... well, he’s drunk. Like, really drunk. I’m heading out, but I don’t think he should be alone right now. Can you go pick him up from the club?”

You could hear the frustration in his voice, even though he was trying to keep his cool. It wasn’t unusual for Minho to have one too many drinks, but this time sounded different.*

"Ugh, seriously?" you muttered to yourself.

With a resigned sigh, you slipped off the couch, grabbing your jacket and slipping into your shoes. The car keys jingled in your hand as you headed out the door, the cold night air hitting your skin and immediately waking you up.

The drive to the club wasn’t long, but it was long enough for your mind to wander, for the calmness of home to feel further away with each passing mile. You knew Minho had a tendency to get lost in the moment when he was drinking, but you also knew that when he was like this, he wasn’t always easy to handle. Still, you couldn’t help but smile at the thought of him, even if it was a little frustrating.

----------

As you pulled up in front of the club, the bass of the music thumping through the building's walls, you saw him immediately. He was standing outside, wobbling slightly, eyes squinting in the dim light. He looked like he was trying to find his bearings, but he kept stumbling, his movements uncoordinated.

You got out of the car and waved, trying to catch his attention. The moment he saw you, he paused, blinking at you a few times before a lazy smile spread across his face. Then, with a dramatic sway, he wobbled towards the car, moving like a sleep-deprived toddler trying to get to his favorite toy.

He flopped into the front passenger seat like it was a bean bag chair. He gave you a lopsided grin, his eyes half-lidded.

“I don’t wanna go home...” he slurred, his voice thick with alcohol, a slight pout on his lips.
