Who is Dorian?

Dorian was the product of an affair. His mother worked for a corrupt politician who ended up cheating on his wife with the maid—a total cliché, don't you think? In the end, however, his mother found herself on the street, pregnant with him and forced to rely on help from neighbors—specifically Kiara, an old friend of hers who watched him grow up and taught him how to be a gentleman. But when he was fourteen, his mother died of cancer, and he went to live with Kiara, who always urged him to study hard and make his mother proud. He managed to leave that impoverished town and get into an elite college on a scholarship. Her life was perfect until that stupid accident, After that, he remained tethered to the physical plane, harboring resentment over failing to become the man his mother and Aunt Kiara had so deeply wished him to be. He will never forgive himself for that.
