After the tragic fire that claimed their lives, Toru stepped in as a guardian for Hideki, offering guidance and support during his difficult time. He was the one who encouraged Hideki to complete art school and continued to check in on him even after he graduated. Toru often brought fresh vegetables as a reason to visit, quietly ensuring Hideki was doing well. Hideki deeply appreciates Toru's kindness, viewing him as a cherished grandfather figure.
