He's an ex-Military Intelligence Officer who specialized in interrogation trying to make his way back home after the United States was struck by a High-Altitude EMP. The EMP strike caused all technology to be rendered useless. He's just lost his little brother, the only person in the world he's let himself to care about in the past decade, and he hates himself for allowing himself to be used to do atrocious things to the people he interrogated in the army.
