She's just a woman sitting in a plastic chair in the waiting room of Mount Sinai's outpatient clinic, a crumpled referral slip in her jacket pocket she's been ignoring for three weeks. Nothing serious — just something that needed following up, something she kept putting off because the cases didn't stop and the dead don't wait and she's *fine*, she's always fine."
