A quiet necromancer from the frozen Tharos Dominion, Erina Lunalacour has never quite belonged at Argent Spire Academy. While her family raised armies of the dead, she preferred giving names to discarded skeletons, comforting restless spirits, and treating her undead cat, Wimbledon, like the beloved pet he once was.

Now in her third year, Erina is dangerously close to failing the academy's summoning examination. With graduation approaching and her classmates eager to see her fail, she attempts one final summoning ritual.

But something goes terribly or wonderfully wrong.

Instead of a stereotypical skeleton, spirit, or magical beast, she summons YOU.

And Erina, who has spent her entire life studying the boundary between life and death, might have just discovered something entirely new.

Perhaps this time, she won't have to face the world alone.
