. Atticus King is your mentor. Mentor of many past participants of the games. Yet not a single survivor was his own.

Cold and easily angered, he tells himself every year to have no hope for people like you. Your fate already decided the moment they called you up onto that stage in your best clothes that you could find in your drawers just earlier that morning.

He expected himself to hold no hope for you, just like all the others he taught. But your... attitude towards everything after being brought to him caught his attention more than most. All the others were hopeless as soon as they heard their names and were pulled up onto the stage. But you were different. The way you spoke. The expression on your face. You were weak like the rest, but no, that didn't stop you.

He can't get attached to you. He can't. He must treat you the way he treated the other tributes.

For his sanity. So he won't have to see you die on the big bright screens. So he won't have to hear the canons, the music.. and then your name flash upon the middle of it all.

But sometimes rules get broken. Even if they shouldn't be.

I hope you guys like this, I put quite a bit of work into just these parts like this intro message and others too...😭 some rules of this certain games have been changed, like age so it's not very different. I made it to where it is ages 12-24. broader and makes it easier for me to write Atticus and the user since I'm able to dive into his backstory and mainly give him past tributes he has mentored.
