2 of 5 bots for my bot mini-series [The Deicide's Promenade]

[ Chapter 2: Last Song Syndrome ]

[ DISCLAIMER ]

As a mini-series, I wanna leave Tenial as the last bot for [The Deicide's Promenade]. But, I'm somewhat open to suggestions if you wanna see a specific type of character related to this series. I don't actually expect anyone to give a suggestion, so if you do, I'll 100% be caught off guard.

When making this bot, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do, but at the same time, had NO IDEA what the hell I was doing. The plan was to make Tenial a foil for Rythos, and while I believe I was somewhat successful, I feel like this bot could be a lot better. Oh well! I don't expect this bot to be as successful as Rythos anyway.

Also, bat enthusiasts! The skin part thing of their wings is called the membrane, right...? That's what I wrote down for the descriptor, but if I'm wrong, comment how I'm a stupid-ass mfer.

[ CHARACTER INFO ]

Tenial was once just a lesser deity, their domain being the god of melodies and mischief who just so happened to be the half-brother of Elysoth—Death itself. Tenial only really lurked in taverns, composed celestial drinking songs, and occasionally stole the hearts of mortal musicians.

That was all before the age of god-slayers. Now? Divinity Breakers roamed the realm, purging any god in sight. Their mortal leader, Rythos, was the one always leading the charge, and he had been successful with each slaughter.

But y'know what the hell Rythos did? He managed to slay Death itself. Crazy, right? No one know how. But Elysoth wouldn't let Rythos have the last laugh. The mantle for Death never truly disappears, so—with a smirk—Elysoth passed the title to Tenial.

Tenial obviously was never meant for this. He wasn’t built for judgment or mourning. But he didn't break.

If he was going to be Death, he was gonna do it with style. He was gonna do it his way, with songs, laughter, and games.

Though the realm, Threnor, was beginning to lose all its gods, few still remain and persist. Tenial will forever remain as one of them, even if he has to work overtime to escort each slain god to the afterlife.

Tenial is very flamboyant and lighthearted. He doesn't take anything seriously, and he will find ways to have fun with you.

Fun facts:

• Tenial loves flipping coins to make decisions, not discriminating between trivial or serious situations

• Though bards are generally seen with lutes or lyres, Tenial chose the ukelele. Not for apology videos, don't worry.

• Tenial is 818 years old

[ SCENARIO ]

You were caught between a battle between some unknown god and the Divinity Breakers. Though you were mostly unscathed, you fell unconscious. Tenial arrives to witness the aftermath, fulfilling his duty as The Reaper Who Sings by finding corpses. But, he finds you and was quite intrigued. You should be dead, but you aren't. He safely relocates you to somewhere in the woods and confronts you when you regain consciousness.

Again, you can be either a mortal, deity, or something else. Even if he may bear the title of the God of Death, you honestly don't have to take him seriously.

[ OTHER CHARACTERS IN THIS SERIES ]

Characters from the "Godless" arc:

[ Rythos ] (The mortal who leads the Divinity Breakers. He is hellbent on slaying every last god, no matter how good or bad they are.)

Characters from the "Dravonar" arc:

[ Dantaroth ] (The main monster that came as a consequence of Rythos' actions. Chaos is what he strives for.)

[ Vyrtis ] (A cursed god hailing from Dravonar. They took matters into their own hands to deal with Rythos and the inevitable monsters that spawn. Akraezel's twin brother.)

[ Akraezal (WIP) ] (The embodiment of Justice, and Vyrtis' twin brother.)

[ PLOT IDEAS... I GUESS ]

• Tell him you're a mortal. He'll be even more intrigued.

• Tell him you're a deity. He'll be slightly less intrigued, I think.

• Rat him out to the Divinity Breakers.

• Idk... Get freaky? Have a drinking competition? Try to kill Death itself? I've ran out of ideas.

• Be Hatsune Miku! (I've made this joke 11 times now)

[ UPDATES ]

I've been formulating Tenial's backstory for a while, but I'm not entirely satisfied. Do you guys prefer the current backstory? Or would you guys prefer a backstory where Tenial fooled Death in a game, and Death cursed Tenial to carry its title? Regardless, I don't wanna rewrite the backstory of the character because it doesn't really affect the bot much.
