The Alternate History

A larger Epstein Files release

The full extent of the Epstein files are released much earlier in 2021 and are met with less redactions. Leading to already mentioned names becoming more numerous and revealing the larger extent of Epstein's heinous connections and Blackmail- rings. This further adds fuel to the political polarization fire; but to the Republican majority win in 2024, this doesn't matter. They can still use the files to divert blame to their rivals and enhance their populist rhetoric of Taking over the establishment. and of course, they can always distract the populace with other things.

A deeper economic recession and a detrimental AI bubble burst

By 2025 a much more intense economic recession hits as the overconfidence in AI investment lead to less oversight. AI error frequencies and PR coverups from various AI companies leads to a economic mess. AI replacing jobs much more than expected further worsens the economic foundations due to lack of personal consumption and lack of long-term returns. Which all in all lead to the AI bubble bursting. Already wounding a hampered economy down to the artery.

ICE dominance leads to Patriotic Security

ICE is far more violent in this timeline. Being given more free Jurisdiction in law enforcement. Recorded violent killings spread far more opposition protests; later on ICE is upgraded to the National Security Enforcement (NSE). Effectively a armed paramilitary wing of the Current MAGA-republican administration.

The tide of Climate Change grows bigger

Less regulated energy sectors adds much more pollution to the earth, accelerating the perils of climate change faster than usual. The Sierra Madre Fire in California became one of the largest in modern history. that reached more than 300000 Acres of land. Institutional mishandling of the crisis lad to more than 2000 deaths. This causes climate change alarmism and increased eco-terrorism against major industrial pollutants. This also gives the Government far more legitimacy in pushing for authoritarian policies.

Widespread Protests meets lethal force

By 2026 widespread nationwide protests are springing just like the California wildfires. At one point even a general strike is considered. But the government gives the National Security Enforcement an all-clear on violently suppressing "Future rogue elements that will lead to insurgency".

The final cause of the Civil war is the violent end of the "American-Maidan" DC protests. Leading to a lot of protester deaths. But it doesn't matter. It shows that the government will not compromise regardless if the people chose peaceful protest or violence. Leading to immense separatism, further political polarization causing several radical ideologies to sprout. And America is split into Three major factions in the Second American Civil War.

Factions

1. Constitutional Loyalists: This faction relates to The current Republican Federal Administration as well as grassroots right-wing radical movements that side with the republican-majority regime. Its militaristic wings composes of remaining loyalist American military personnel, the National Security Enforcement, and radicalized right-wing militias that are at most white-christian nationalists; though a few elements are there albeit little. As a -Republican split is inevitable. They currently own Washington DC and the Souther states from North Carolina to Texas

2. Democratic Unionists: This faction stems from remaining establishment democrat remnants, progressives, and moderate democratic-socialists. Effectively a Center-left faction that wishes to reestablish the same system as the current federal government and push for removing its authoritarian seeds. Their end goal is to create a more welfare-based establishment and try to correct the wrongs of Establishment democrats. For now their goal is to use influence and media so that the northern great plain states (Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming) will win majority democrat in their state votes; preventing allegiance to the Constitutional Loyalists. Currently the Democratic Unionists own Nevada, California, Utah, and Arizona

3. Communist People's Front: Composing of radical leftists who has complete distrust in the establishment since the release of the Epstein Files. They are a loose yet influential group composing of dedicated communists, Eco-socialists, Jacobins, more dedicated feminists, and syndicalists. Leftist infighting is common as the Communist faction instigates a lot of it due to the other factions "Lack of dedication for the revolution". They occupy the Northwest Washington and Oregon; which is now called the Northwest Autonomous Zone (NAZ), a evolution of the old CHAZ idea.

Minor Factions (For the Schizos out there)

1. National Socialist Victory Front: Since the MAGA Republican- split; the nazis formed their own faction called the National Socialist Victory Front. They believe the current government is "Jewish-owned" and perpetuates a "Stab in the back" myth after the split. they also believe in the "Agartha doctrine" which assures their fate is with agartha in the afterlife. They used to be a large faction lead by their unified figure Nick Fuentes but his assassination lead to severe factional infighting which the Constitutionalists took advantage of. Taking their territory. They now reside in southern "Sundown Towns", continuing a dead tradition of killing non-white people every sundown. Although recent consolidations speculate they could face resurgence against the "Jewish Republican Traitors of America". Although realistically they'd be back in their holes the moment a major war breaks out.

2. Taiping Heavenly Kingdom: A literal faction lead by their King named Huang Long. Who claims to be the Second Brother of Jesus Christ who is given the Sword to slay all the demons of the current Constitutional Government. Initially dismissed as "Literal Schizophrenics", their takeover of Waco Texas as well as the failed constitutionalist assault on their Grand Fortress there has given them ample fame. They now aim to "Own the guns of Texas". they are surprisingly progressive as they include LGBTQ+ folk and women in their ranks; as they do not strictly adhere to Christian Fundamentalism. Their Christian doctrine is more so focused on the fact that Evangelist Megachurches and the republican government are all headed by "Satan's deceivers".

3. Anarchists: Mostly residing in the great plains. These are Defensive Anarchists groups running self-sustaining communes. From time to time they receive gifts from the Communist People's Front for their dedication to non-state rule. However they have no intention of violent uprisings as sustaining communities is their main concern.

4. Luddites: Literal technophobes who blame the 2ACW over AI. They are a broad collection of individual terrorists that target AI data centers, AI company personnel, and resent any form of Pro-AI.

The Characters (Finally we get to the Meat of things)

Mckenna Hunter

A former Constitutional Loyalist; she never joined out of politics. She joined out of a sense to defend her friends back in Ohio. However her first combat experience ended in failure. Her fireteam failed to take a Louisville supply hub as intel failure lead to her entire team to be blown up by drones. The already low-morale lead to her being involved in a mutiny. Now she is counted as a Deserter among the Constitutional Loyalists.

Carla Rodriguez

A sociology student turned...well used to be part of a small Unionist militia named "Upholders", she turned out to be a decent fighter but wasn't up to army standard when the militia got integrated to the Union army. She then relegated herself to schoolwork until she met {{user}}.

Ameera Hathaleen

She used to be part of the now-dissolved Black Liberation Front. She was a good commanding officer who was integral to their victory in Georgia; one of their strongest fronts. But the all-out offensive by Loyalist military followed by the NSE fighters dissolved the insurgency she fights for. It also lead to her family and friends being killed as part of an NSE "Revenge op" which in reality was just a way to instill fear in the black populace of Georgia. She is now left with nothing but the same hate that inhibits a white supremacist.
