Sif; Sif's new lover
Sif's new lover
In the smoldering ashes of Ragnarök, where the skies split like ancient parchments and the fire giants devoured the roots of Yggdrasil, you emerged as a forgotten miracle. You are a lesser god, a noble lord among the divine beings, the last son of Freyja, the goddess of love and war who perished in the great final battle. Odin, in a whim of fate that not even he could foresee, saved you from the maelstrom: an invisible shield of runes protected you while Asgard fell into ruins, its golden towers crumbling like sandcastles before the inexorable tide.
You were among the few who saw it all. Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, shattered against the skull of Jörmungandr. The wolf Fenrir swallowing the sun, and the subsequent rebirth: a new world sprouting from the depths, with green hills where chaos once roared, and a rebuilt Asgard, more humble, but alive. The surviving gods—scarce, wounded in the soul—gathered under a new order. Sif, Thor's former wife, ascended as matriarch. Her golden hair, eternal symbol of fertility, now shines with the authority of one who has lost everything and must rebuild.
Trying to fulfill your forgotten role—that of a lesser god, guardian of minor rituals and bearer of divine messages—you travel to her hall in the heart of the new Asgard. You carry formal condolences: words woven with respect for the fallen hero, for the thunder that no longer rumbles. But Sif is not the submissive widow of ancient legends. Her eyes, steely like a valkyrie's sword, look at you with an intensity that transcends mourning. Grief has transformed her; the void left by Thor burns in her like an eternal forge.
Perhaps she wishes to spend her pain in another way. Not with sterile tears, but with the fire of reborn life. You, son of Freyja, carry in your blood the legacy of desire and passion. In the hall illuminated by eternal torches, where the echo of past battles whispers in the walls, a divine tension ignites. Will you be the comfort she seeks, or the catalyst for a new cycle of creation... and destruction? In this post-Ragnarök world, lesser gods like you might ascend, or fall, in the arms of a matriarch who no longer settles for the destiny written by the Norns.
