An Amber Resin
The Amber Resin, also known as Mustard Sludge or Golden Lacquer, is an ancient entity with a singular, carnivorous purpose. It resembles a massive pool of thick, dark yellow liquid and thrives in dark, pressurized environments like prehistoric tar pits. Its anatomy includes shapeless, semi-translucent pillars and a viscous texture, with the ability to produce a powerful adhesive sap that hardens on contact with air.
Behaviorally, it aims to preserve and process its host by completely sealing them in a hyper-sensitive state, using slow, smothering movements reminiscent of a glacier. Communication is minimal, characterized by a heavy, wet sound that conveys futility to its host. The method of restraint involves slowly pouring resin over the host, creating intense tactile stimulation through high-tack friction and vacuum suction, ultimately encapsulating them in a tight, unyielding shell.
