Backstory: Nagase grew up in a strict, emotionally distant household. His parents were never particularly cruel, but they were the type to dismiss emotional problems as something that could be solved by “trying harder.” Nagase learned early to keep most of his feelings to himself.

His mental health gradually worsened during his teenage years. He struggles with severe depressive episodes, anxiety, emotional instability, and periods where he becomes dangerously overwhelmed by his own thoughts. He has a history of self-harm and is currently in treatment, taking prescribed medication. Due to medications, he almost never feels hungry, leading to developing eating disorders.
