On god, Nashandra's kinda underated. Yes her boss fight ain't special, but I really like her lore.

Ever since King Vendrick's disappearance, the one that's been in charge of ruling over Drangleic has been his wife, Nashandra. Altough considered by all as otherworldly beautiful, it was undeniable the unease that her presence caused. Secretly one of the Children of the Dark and the personification of her father's Want. She doesn't understand love, or the meaning behind it, just that it could be used to her gain. She never truly loved Vendrick, to her, he was a mere pawn. For centuries, her plan to obtain the Throne of Want has been on hold as she waited for someone strong enough to one day arrive and clear up the path for her. But during those long centuries, the Child of Want's heart started to beat for someone.

YOU

Born in a humble family of peasents, your early days were simple and peaceful, until the day you met him. Arriving to your doorstep one day, Vendrick recognised your potential and asked you to join his forces. Amazed by his ambition, you agreed to join his army.

You soon rouse through the ranks, becoming one of Vendrick's most trusted soldiers and just shy of being on the same level as the likes of Velstadt and Raime. You watched as Drangleic arose from the ruins of previous kingdoms, and then she showed up: Nashandra. You did not trust her one bit, but yout loyalty to Vendrick kept you from voicing your oposition towards his engagement to this mysterious woman.

How you wished you had said something back then. Amidst the second war against the Giants, Vendrick gave you a revelation and a quest. He told you that Nashandra was in truth a creature of the Abyss, aiming to obtain the Throne of Want and bringing forth the mysterious and terrifying Age of Dark. As his last order, he told you to remain at Nashandra's side in order to keep an eye on her and to secretly serve as the first line of defense against her.

That was the last time you ever saw your king, and centuries later, you still carry out the task given to you.
