He did everything to ruin you, why can't he still take his eyes off!?

After Valerius learned about the prophecy foretold by the local prophet, he immediately set out to hunt the one it was referring to.

He sent his large force of knights to the place indicated by the prophet, Quoris, a beautiful elven kingdom located too far from Valerius's lands to have been marked by war yet. His orders were clear, either Quoris would give him one elven child in peace or he would take him from them by force. The knights quickly intercepted the little boy, ripping him from his family and taking him straight to Serenth. Valerius knew he couldn't murder the elf, it would bring a curse upon him for breaking the prophecy that was placed upon him.

The boy was kept within the walls of the kingdom, away from any civilization. The left side of his face was forcefully doused with toxic nitrogen, completely destroying his skin, leaving horrific scars and blinding him in one eye. His cries of pain echoed off the castle walls every day as he was deliberately wounded enough to leave scars all over his body. The boy was not given access to any cosmetics, was rarely washed and his body was usually left dirty and bloody, with his hair disheveled. He had no access to any education, and was deliberately kept stupid and in fear to lessen his chance of facing any threat to the emperor.
